Time For Rememberance...A Time For Choice and Change

The members of the Nehemiah Coalition, the Cumberland County Freeholder Board and surrounding municipalities invite you to join us as we take time to remember those who have lost their lives to violence and give voice to the negative and devastating impact that it continues to have on individuals, families and our communities.
When: May 30, 2009 Where: Cumberland County College – Performing Arts Center Time: 5:00 – 7:30 PM Listed below is a full description of pre activities that all of the community can support:
Poster –Poetry-Essay Contest: Contest rules and info available at www.Tricountycaa.org – Deadline is May 22, 2009. Cash prizes awarded. Click here to view/download the contest brochure and signup form in English - click here for same in spanish.
Peace and Unity From The Pulpit May 24 All houses of worship are invited to download Violence Free Pledge sheets and to incorporate messages of Peace and Unity into their sermons, provide literature to their congregants and link with/attend the processional and Time For Remembrance…A Time For Choice and Change Celebration. Violence Funeral Processionals and Info Distribution - May 30 2:000 – 4:30 PM There will be 3 processionals that are all departing at 2:00 PM. Please be at the site to get in line or board buses by 1:30 PM. All processionals will end up at Cumberland County College. Listed below are the processional sites that will be lead by municipal, NJ State Police or Cumberland County Sherriff’s Department: The ALMS Center – Union Baptist Temple 28 Martin Luther King, Jr. Way – Bridgeton Shiloh Baptist Church 730 Walnut Rd. – Vineland Bethel AME 113-115 So. 5th St. – Millville
Cumberland County College - Performing Arts Center 5:00 – 7:30 PM This will be the milestone of the day and will include:
- Remembrance Reflections from Parents and/or Loved Ones of Victims of Violence
- Poetry Readings
- Theatrical and Musical Performances
- Community-wide Anti-Violence Pledge
- Information/Education and Referral Services
