Family Service Worker

Under the supervision of the Bethel Learning Center Director performs assigned duties relating to the implementation of Child Care Services.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Recruit and Enroll children.
  • Prepare and maintain the original case file on each child admitted to the program
  • Establish Family Partnership Agreements and assist family members in accessing services to attain established goals.
  • Develops a transition plan for every child in preparation of their departure from one program option to another
  • Maintain daily open communication with parents
  • Keep accident reports
  • Maintain observation reports
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Report any suspect abuse to supervisor
  • Maintain a safe and healthy enviornment
  • Inspect and replace damaged or lost materials
  • Help to plan and prepare for parent meetings and back to school nights
  • Help plan field trips for the center
  • Keep all appropriate records such as, attendance, time sheets, children's health physical's, children's shot records and center illness log.

Professional Responsibilites:

  • Attend and participate in all in-service and staff meetings
  • Observe established administrative procedures.
  • Provide written reports and maintain statistics as required.
  • Participate in evaluation activities of program participants
  • Keep all appropriate records such as records, attendance and timesheets.
  • Meet all applicable licensing regulations

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduation from high school, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Early Childhood Education
  • Experiance Working in a child care setting preferred
  • Must be computer literate and have experiance with Microsoft Office 2000.
  • Commitment to Bethel Ministries' philosophy and mission statement
  • Access to currently registered car and a valid driver's license.
  • Bi-lingual preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in written and verbal communications.

Special Requirements:

Must be able to perform physical activites such as, but not limited to, lifting heavy items (up to 50 lbs. unassited), bending, standing, climbing or walking. Must pass fingerprint clearance test for all appropriate agencies.
