Bethel Development Corporation Center Cook/ Food Prep
Under the supervision of the Bethel Learning Center Director performs assigned duties relating to the planning, preparation and documentation of all meals for the Child Care Ceter, and perform related work as required.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:

Prepares nutritious meals and snacks for enrolled children; prepares substitute items for children on resticted diets.

Distributes food to the classrooms.

Practices safe food handling techniques in food preparation and storage.

Plans for and purchases all food and necessary supplies needed to provide food service.

Keeps a daily record of menus.

In collaboration with Program Director, develops weekly menus to meet healthy eating requirements
-
Maintains a safe and sanitary kitchen, pantry and storage areas; washes items used for food preparation
-
Attends conferences and other workhshops as needed
Professional Responsibilities:
-
Attend and participate in all in-service and staff meeting
-
Observe established administrative procedures.

Provide written reports and maintain statistics as required.

Participate in evaluation activities of program participants
-
Keep all appropriate records such as records, attendance and timesheets.

Meet all applicable licensing regulations
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Graduation from high school, or equivalent.
-
Experiance in production or commercial cooking
-
Expericance Working in a childhood nutrition & producton cooking
-
Work cooperatively with staff, students, vendors and funding agency monitors; maintain accurate written records.

Ability to perform mathematical calculations accurately.

Access to currently registered car and a valid driver's license.

Bi-lingual preferred buyt not required.

Proficiency in written and verbal communications.
Special Requirements:
Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to, lifting heavy itmes (up to 50 lbs. unassited), bending, standing, climbing or walking. Must pass fingerprint clearance test for all appropriate agencies.
